Wingware Python IDE Product Family

Wing IDE Professional
This high-quality professional integrated development environment (IDE) for Python speeds development time and improves code quality with plenty of powerful code intelligence, editing, testing, and debugging features.
Use Wing IDE and Python for rapid development of cross-platform desktop and web applications, enterprise application integration, software testing, and application scripting.
Unlike many competing technologies, Wing IDE and Python let you concentrate on building your application-specific functionality.
Wing IDE is available on Windows, Linux, Mac OS X (see supported platforms for details) and works with many Python versions).
The latest stable release is Wing IDE 3.2.10, released on August 18, 2010. A newer beta release, version 4.0.0-b4, is also available for testing..
"A real power tool to use for the development and debugging of complex Python applications" -- InformIT, September 2001
Wing IDE Personal
This low-cost scaled down edition of Wing IDE is licensed for non-commercial and educational uses only. It includes a powerful Python-aware editor, simple graphical debugger, and project manager.
"Despite the feature constraints in this version of Wing, it is a powerful IDE." -- Linux Enterprise, October 2002
Wing IDE 101
Wing IDE 101 is a free basic edition of Wing IDE that was originally designed with the University of Toronto Computer Science Department for teaching entry level computer science courses. It is not open source but is free for non-commercial use by educators, students, and hobbyists.
Note that Wing IDE 101 omits auto-completion and most other code intelligence features in the other Wing IDE products. This was by design, so that students are more conscious of the details of the language and modules they are learning about.
